Department of Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering is an evergreen and ever flourishing field. It is said so because demand of mechanical engineer is in every industry. Starting from the home appliance industries to space organisation, automobile industry to railways, ship industry, private industries as well aspublic sector companies.
Diploma in Mechanical Engg.-A Mechanical Diploma Engineer plays an important role in industry and Govt. departments. He is required in various departments eg: Production, quality control, design, marketing, maintenance etc and also as Junior Engineer in govt departments such as electricity, PWD, Power Generation plants etc.
Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is offered by the Technical Education Deptt. at various Polytechnics all over Haryana. This three year diploma is designed to prepare a Diploma engineers according to the requirements of various industries/departments as mentioned above.
Mechanical Engg Deptt at GP Shergarh (Kaithal) : Mech. Engg Deptt. with fitst year intake of 60 seats is committed to impart the quality technical education to the students. Well qualified and experienced faculty as well as workshop instructors are dedicated to develop skills to match with the industry requirements or to pursue higher education.
Description of Labs
- CAD LAB: Fully Equipped computer lab with uninterrupted power supply and internet facility also available.
- SOM LAB :Strength of material lab having latest equipment like Universal testing machine, Torsion testing machine, Impact testing machine and Hardness testing machine are available in the institute.
- WORKSHOP : Fully equipped Machine shop, Welding shop, Fitting shop, Carpentry shop, paint shop, Sheet metal Shop.

100% campus placement for eligible students have been achieved for 2018-2021 batch students of Mechanical Engg. At Govt. Polytechnic Shergarh. Students have been placed in reputed industries like VVDN Pvt.Ltd., Sata Vikas Group, Asahi Glass Ltd. etc. with attractive pay packages and other facilities.
